Like a Roland Juno? Or maybe the prophet 5? What vst would be best for this sound? Lastly, could I get some tips on making a pad like this (waveforms, filters, envelopes, etc)

It's not an entirely silly suggestion. Some of those old 90's hardware synths maybe cheaper than some plugins! Case in point:
