Absolutely. If thousands of people were to download a 50 Cent album, it's not like he's going to be screwed--he just might not be able to add that million dollar water fountain to his g-unit mansion. Besides, there are more than enough devoted listeners to support artists like him.
However, with a scene like DnB, artists don't get sponsorship offers from multi-billion dollar companies and relatively huge record deals, so being a devoted listener and supporter myself, I feel obligated and encouraged to support the artists the DnB scene embraces.
