yes, when i had my pircings in it was hell when mixing.. the ones down the lobes where fine, as they heal pretty fast, but i had a couple on ot the top ears, and coz there loads of vains there, they take mucg longer to heal.. and because its not as if id be waiting the 3 months they need to heal without mixing, so every time i had the cans on, two things would happen: one, in every movement of the headphones id leave a little yelp of agony, and two, the piercings would fuck up, without ever really healing... so, they had to go...bollox..i realy miss me wing studs, but fuck it, mixin's more important.. i might do some if i go traveling, so by the time im back, they'll heal, and no probs then!!
You should wear some inner ear headphones for a week or so until your ear fixes itself. It's not the best solution, but you can easily mix with them, hopefully with minimal pain.
seriously man what you done now?? or is this the blood from before thats making your ears still hurt........if that makes sense??
Have you seen "Its all Gone Pete Tong?" He put his feet on the speakers ??? Failing that turn up the headphones louder and hold them away from your ear ...
maybe have a shot at mixing without headphones mainly. I have a friend whose a hip hop dj and he can find the beginning of a dnb beat and mix without headphones real well.
ermm......... i fell over and hit my head, i think but im not too sure all i remember was being in the takeaway one minute next thing i was in hospital..... @ apples @ mesh ...yea i can mix by hearing the beats coming from the styli it just sucks mixing a breakdown.... not that i have anytime to mix anyway so it does'nt really matter ....... right im off again doing a 4pm - 8am shift
yep thats true its far from ideal for dnb. aside from that I hope your ear heals up, cause thats fucked to lose a chunk of ear
