Can i network a pc to a mac?

    Getting a powermac soon, but im keeping the studio pc aswell because of the massive sample library on it and other stuff, so i want to know if i can network the 2 computers like you would wth two xp computers? with a lan cable?:nadia:

    yes, its very easy... the mac computer will show up in the network neighbourhood on the pc. and the pc will show up under the network section of finder on the mac.

    Wish it were that easy, have probs with it too :teeth:
    All I get to see in the vicinity are printer properties (with all file sharing options - on) :fuckinpc:
    You'd be needing a hub or cross cable..
    the network protocol should be automatic (eg Samba) and mac users would ship data over by using the mac to tell the pc to transfer to or from it
    But as I said , haven't yet got the whole midi over lan going either so..

    We managed this in our old flat with no problems at all and could share files over a hub.

    Cross cable should work too
