    what do you mean exactly?

what i do in terms of basslines sometimes is split the audio into 3 channels with each respective channel letting in only bass, mids and highs. or are you just talking about grouping?

for drums, do you mean using a drum rack?

in ableton you can use sends to send audio from lots of tracks to just one track. each track has to dials underneath it which say A and B by default, when you turn the knob up it goes to its respective return track.

in ableton 8 they introduced grouping, basically right click a track, and click group, you can then drag any amount of other tracks into that group, and process the whole group.

read the ableton help pdf that comes free with ableton, its in the help section of the program, it goes through every feature and also gives examples on their uses.
