Started in the 70's by brothers Jah T and Mikey Dread, the Channel One soundsystem has built a solid rep over the years. Regular fixtures at Notting hill carnival and at raves and parties around the British Isles, the boys never fail to get the dance going.
Originally of Smith and Mighty fame, Rob Smith aka RSD has had considerable influence on both jungle and dubstep scenes. Knocking out the dubstep on punch drunk records these days, there ain't many who can match him on bassline. Absolute legend!
A household name in the world of jungle / dnb, Kenny has been smashing out beats since way back in 89. A constant source of energy behind the decks, Kenny always brings the vibe to the party, known for his selections and tight, fast paced mixing. Perfect to round off the main room at Concorde for us.
Oneman has almost single-handedly re-invented old school garage - taking the art of djing to a new level - recontextualising 2 step garage into dubstep, grime, funky, 'wonky' and beyond. He is the only artist ever to appear on Mary Anne Hobb’s BBC Radio 1 show without releasing a single record, a testament to his mad skills behind the decks.
One of the most highly regarded reggae acts in the UK right now, Brighton's own Resonators are proof that the spirit of the original roots sound is alive and well. Receiving support from Rodigan, Gilles Petersen and Mark Lamaar to name a few, the only way is up for this lot, and the only way to hear them is live, with Darren JamTone now on the desk allowing them to fully create the dub experience live on stage.
Verb T's rise through uk hip hop has seemed almost effortless, from his earl;y releases on lowlife through to the highly acclaimed 'Broken Window' on Silent soundz and the massive 'Verbs with a vengeance'..An artist with a unique style and lyrical outlook which both embraces classic Hip Hop and pushes boundaries to advance the artform.
Hailing from South East London, rapper Fliptrix has been creating a storm since 07's Force Fed Imagery. Bringing intelligent, streetwise lyrics, high-energy delivery and a myriad of original and distinctive flows. His album Theory of Rhyme is doing big things in the scene right now and there is more on the way.
Macabre unit hitman. Smashes out the dubstep like there is no tomorrow, not to be beaten on tight, quick mixes.
Mad skills behind the decks, noted by DMC as he took the uk crown this year. Mash up party business.
