Brookes Brothers Album Release & Tracklist Info

Testify Testicles! Don't know how anybody could say 'Beautiful' is "cheesy". Why because it's popular? It's such a prototypical Brookes tune. Since day 1 when they entered the scene they've always been about the soulful/motown vibes. How the fuck does somebody compare Robert Owens vocals to 90% of liquid tunes which have generic sample CD vocals?

Can't forget "Desert Island" too

it's been a long time coming and I for one can't wait for this, from what i have heard so fair it's all good and due to it's constant release date being pushed back it better be fucking good

yes thats right, im so narrowminded that any popular tune is immediately shit
It's not that, usually when ppl call out the cheese card on popular dnb guys it's cause they feel they've "sold out" or changed their sound. Beautiful is no different than Tear You Down, Rainman, The Light, Mistakes, Someone, etc. So if you think Beautiful is "cheesy" than I could only assume you think ALL of their tunes are cheesy, cause it's exactly the bloody same!!! lol

I think their tunes are cheesy tbh and that's why I like them. I see nothing wrong about it, I don't use cheesy = sell out. When you want some deep stuff, you listen to Icicle or Rockwell, when you want to cheer up or tear down the dancefloor, you reach for Brookes Brothers. Easy :)

Didn't mind The Light, but generally it's not my cuppa tea. Is euphoric sounding more legit?

yeah i really dont see how you can call them cheesy or sellouts at all!!..both Dan & phil were brought up on soul & motown, so generally enjoy making uplifting music...despite them sometimes playing heavy stuff in their sets, they do that to support other bbk artists and artists that support their brookes brother tunes, also they give crowds what they want by playing a mixture of stuff, if they had it their way im sure they'd only wanna play the more uplifitng stuff..

Corpse Bride is definitely one the Coolest Songs ever made.
Talk of them being cheesy is ridiculous, easily 2 of the most skilled Musicians in dnb. The vibe they create is 2nd to none I reckon

Big Blue is straight up pure Brookes Brothers vibe.

And I'll throw my two cents on for Beautiful... you gotta hear it out first of all. And even then I wasn't the biggest fan of it. I'd rate most Brookes Brothers tunes higher. I wouldn't call it cheese, I wouldn't call it popular as a derogatory statement. It's just not my cuppa. That's all.

I have done several times, I actually have to run out the room, like its some sort of really really strong cheese......

:teeth:

The majority of it's not my thing if I'm honest, but they're so good at what they do and I can really appreciate that. Proper pair of dedicated producers and you can tell there's a lot of work gone in to their tracks. Everything just sounds so, (for want of a better word) 'musical' and well structured/layered. Big ups to them, hope the album does well.

'War Cry' is still badass. :gun:
