What is the purpose of people downloading breaks from the breaks exchange thread??

What do you do with them? Do you just edit them and stick em in your songs or something?

    Pretty much mate,
Most jungle was made up of broken and resampled motown breaks
    Amen break for one
Most DnB producers now use electronic drummers or 5.1 recorded samples
    Plus layering helps =]

do what u want with them. there could be some lovely single hits in there that u could take out, or u could choose to keep the break or part of the break in its entirety, thereforce retaining the original groove and giving a less static or quantized feel to your beats...

also if u think about how each hit is related to each other/was recorded in the same environment etc u can see how u are able to achieve quite a cohesive feel without so much effort, as opposed to creating your own break from scratch from a collection of different hits from different kits recorded at different qualites and different environments etc.

i guess it depends what u are after at the time...

    imo bla bla etc
