Just a heads up that the new Computer Music magazine (which came out on the 28th Jan) has a Break (the producer, Symmetry Recordings) tutorial video.

Computer music magazine got me started on production. It's great and the bundled software contains some of the best freebies I've ever come across.

Masterclasses can be really interesting, gives you a real idea of what's important to a producer and what's going through their mind (as well as whether they know their shit or not cough martin garrix cough)

You mean those masterclass videos where they can't figure out to to use a real mic and get a line in for the music?

I saw this last weekend and was intrigued by the sidechain plugin he was using Trackspacer. It's the missing plugin I've been after for a long time which gives you frequency dependent control over what you sidechain. In fact there's a bit where he talks about sidechaining percussion into each other to help it glue rather than sounding simply placed on top of one another.
