You have missed the point by a million miles

I would love to be able to mix a tune at 155bpm into a set of around 180bpm on one of my technics 1210 mk2 turntables, however with a pitch range of just 8% it isn't physically possible
 
There actually is a feature in audacity that allows you to set the original BPM and the BPM you want it to be at, and it will stretch it for you.

Yeah it only applies to tempo though, it won't adjust the pitch accordingly

That's what I've gone for now though, just changing the tempo to 170bpm, which with an 8% pitch range can be increased to almost 184bpm which is plenty fast enough
