A little quiet so far this year but now one of the new power generation drum & bass production crews are back with an absolutely sick two part EP that is anything but quiet. Michael Willer and Robert Stefan aka Body & Soul have been busy, very busy creating what is undoubtedly their most explosive release to date on their own Nasca Records. Get ready for a great big bag of awesome!

Part 1 lets rip with the title track ‘Shipwrecked’; with an ominous intro it sets the scene perfectly for what’s to come with an outrageously horrid bass that snarls and pulls at its lead, snapping at anything that comes close. You’d better start running though because when that lead breaks it’s gonna get you! Add a nasty vox and the package is complete. Demolition drum and bass that’s ready to take out the whole club!

‘Metamorphasis’ then rolls out with a classic break and a schizoid growling bassline that eventually drops in full to create a naughty skanking track that twists and turns as the gnarly bass takes ahold. Throw this one down and watch the D&B soldiers screwface in unison. Deadly like poison.

Moving onto Part two and we’re greeted by the turbo-charged ‘Warning’. More Body & Soul scene setting as a hi-octane break kicks in to lead up to the dropout giving us just enough time to take one last breath before a drop into bass-ageddon! Taking no prisoners, this is a terrifyingly mean slice of drum and bass, cooked to perfection.

Then to finish off an incredible EP Body & Soul treat us to some ‘Chemicalz’, as if we needed any with these beats coming at us! Paranoid pads and synth hits envelope the mix as the build rides high and we’re thrown into an awesome journey of bouncing bass and unadulaterated tech-step heaven. Crazyily good.
