Disturbed Recordings has been leaving its maniacal footprints all over the drum ‘n bass scene since 2004 and, with Raiden and SPL doing the remix treatment on “Illusion of Time” and “Embrace,” it’s time to step in another direction – one with darker atmospheres and sadistic drums. Teaming up with Possession partner, Victoria, Souru dons the mask of death and brings forth the next revolution of Disturbed junglists – Blind Recordings.
A: Possession + SPL - Sick Inside
B: Possession - When The Angels Kiss
With releases on Disturbed and Tech Itch already under his belt, SPL brings his dark sound forth in a collaboration with Possession entitled “Sick Inside” on Side A. A deep, melodic intro soothes the listener as screams of anguish penetrate the atmosphere. After a barrage of advancing drums, a sudden halt occurs stating “the only way to end this is suicide.” Beware of the drop that follows. The combination of pounding drums, distorted reeces and edits sends this one flying straight to the dancefloor. A second wave comes through after the opening reinvents itself, this time dropping darker and harder, therefore proving that by the end of this tune, you too will be “sick inside.”
When The Angels Kiss:
The B side brings out the raw talents of this vocalist/producer combo with “When the Angels Kiss.” This tune is unique in the fact that it displays both the light and dark side of the spectrum. As the name implies, this is a musical portrait of when good meets evil. The tune begins in ambience, but just as you think you’re getting whisked away into the heavens, rolling amens crescendo into a drop of epic proportions. It’s all mayhem from here. Grimey samples carry the tune into a second break before another sequence of drums and heavy bass take your soul into limbo. Where will you stand? Let Possession decide. Your fate is in their hands.
