so i buy lots of records, but the best, imo, can be bought for £5 or under - example:

http://www.discogs.com/Scientist-The-Exorcist/release/24741

http://www.discogs.com/Sonz-Of-A-Loop-Da-Loop-Era-Far-Out-Higher/release/33436

http://www.discogs.com/Shades-Of-Rhythm-The-Sound-Of-Eden-Every-Time-I-See-Her/release/6552

but then you get some jokers who try to tell you that sentiment should be extortionate:

http://www.discogs.com/Ed-Rush-Optical-Fierce-Cutslo-Lokuste-Mix-Alien-Girl/release/832

http://www.discogs.com/UK-Apachi-With-Shy-FX-Original-Nuttah/release/26868

yeah theyre good tunes but there's a reason them listings never get sold...

tldr? drunk waffle about why equally decent records get sold at extremely different prices. imo http://www.discogs.com/Dance-Conspiracy-Dub-War/release/34773 is as good as, if not better than: http://www.discogs.com/Apollo-Two-Volume-1/release/1464

...?

it's not really about how good the recod is. it's about how popular and how many copies there are. the less copies there are and the more popular the record, the more expensive it is.

perhaps, but imo its more about when there's few copies people believe they can charge what they like for them. if you look at the cheaper records i linked, if you scroll down the people selling, the prices get higher and higher, ending up with the people who first ever listed them for like £50 plus because they believed they could get away with it. Nothing to do with popularity imo, purely greed. Saying that, i just shelled out £30 for rhythm factory - let the whole world know. This is rare for me, but i fricking love that tune, and can't see the price ever going down. Label me a happy mug this evening. :3

Some prices on Discogs are fucked up, ain't nobody gonna pay a 100 quid for a Vinyl that was released a year ago

(Energie / Micro Organism, if anyone is wlling to sell for a reasonable price, hit me up!)

dare you to make an offer for £1.50, and then post the comments to said offer ^^

the highest right now is 75 and sadly this particular one does not accept offers :teeth:

(75 is still ridicolously high for a one year old vinyl)

Tell me about it. I've been searching high and low for a copy of Parity and right now the only copy for sale is almost $80 on Discogs. Great release, but not worth that much.

samurai vinyls are becoming very sought after. Raised by wolves sold out in a hot minute

you think they are bad? check out krinjah releases... not that old either, but we're talking some serious dough. tunes though, wish they were a bit cheaper!

cant think of any drum & Bass releases (with a regular release) that would fetch those kinda prices
Calibre's remix of Chinese Silk. There's a cheap copy of it on Discogs, but I don't trust that one.

edit: Missed the part about a regular release.

we are pretty lucky though. some of the best dubstep and house releases sell for £130+ regularly

http://www.discogs.com/Pachanga-Boys-Girlcatcher/release/3287292

I didn't treat this exactly like a collector's item, but it's still in a fine overall state. some slight scratches (like from the postcard insert) and general signs of use, particularly of 'Time', mostly non-audible or only slightly; some crackles through

this bloke's got some nerve charging that amount of money for something he admitted not looking after. the cheek of these people!

why? its still the cheapest on there and at least he's being honest. by that desc im sure it would be fine for general use but as its a collectors item his desc is satisfactory. if he was selling it for any less someone would bag it and resell it at a profit.
