Bass resampling video tutorial

these are great mate,
ive always though it was field recordings and that kind of thing in these basslines, mashed with a nice full bass sound.
very valuable information thanks.

Love it but I'm still having a hard time getting them to mesh as well as you do ... what things should i look at automating or what fx should i look into for getting them to mesh like that since the video kind of skips the actual process... I use FL Studio 9 so freeware vst fx would be great (even pay stuff)

Well, EQ's are most important. EQ2 is great. No need for any external plugins except maybe some chorus and distortion units (camel phat and the likes)

The most important thing is going trough multiple cycles of resampling.

Are you playing the granular parts by them selves or layered up? Like does it chop from bass to fx back to bass or do you volume envelop mesh them? I managed to get the tuning problem down a bit when I use a vocoder on the granulizer part (gave me a great effect) but I'm still messing with that concept and fine tuning the vocoder settings as I'm not very used to them. I've also been using EQ a fair amount as well, some from the Modern Series as well as EQ2.

Cool. Why not do some automations with the vocoder, layer them in stacks with the bass. (like say the lfo is 1/12, automate the fx on the granular channel at the same rate) You could even use gate or automate a cutoff on the love filter. Bounce that and go from there, keep the cycle moving.
