I know the lead sound isnt the best but still, what could be done better

This sounds really good. The lead actually sounds fine to me. The overall melody is great and you seem to have a really good grasp of harmony. The only things I'd do different is that maybe I'd fatten up the snare a bit. Maybe layer a clap or something on top of it. I'd also try and distort the bass a bit. make it grittier sounding.
