This is big, dont follow this type of sound as much as I should but Barcode were a big influence on me when I was getting into the dnb scene

Shocking that Barcode is now yet another label switched only to digital, Obscene has, and Freak Recordings all but has too, but hardly surprising given the financial climate etc.
Shame, as it's a cracking LP but i'm vinyl only and will defiantely remain so. If that means the end of buying modern day Drum & Bass, so be it.

well if they were having financial trouble and it stopped them releasing for 2 years they are hardly going to press thousands of vinyl are they? build up the digi side and if there is demand then release the vinyl...

big things though, audio asap monsieur gambit (y)

Hey everyone,

Thanks for your interest in the label. Unfortunately vinyl sales are just not what they used to be, with more people purchasing digitally for Ableton and Serato.
As a label we are taking this direction seriously, however we will still be pressing the best digital sellers to vinyl once a year, either as a collectable EP or a few singles.

I am a big fan of release artwork, so each new Barcode release (even digital) will have it's own unique artwork. I think this retains the visual aesthetic of the artists music and differentiates us from other labels who just use default logo artwork over and over for each release. I also have plans to use our release artwork next year in a printed format.

Next 3 Barcode releases will be available on Beatport at these dates:

30 August 2011: Lucio De Rimanez - Nembutal EP, includes 6 tracks everyone has been waiting on.
14 September 2011: Donny EP, including Katharsys remix & collab
First week of October: Nanotek EP, including a Donny remix

Hope that gives you all some clarity,
