    Hey guys,

I would like to know if any of you had any past experience about creating & having a band website?

I am not a programmer and I do not want to learn how to code HTML just to create that one website.

Here are the things that we want:
    - Our own .com domain
    - Servers included, with unlimited transfer
    - Unlimited content/songs
    - Music player on the website
    - Fans can contact us directly on the website

It would be nice if it had Facebook & Twitter integration too.

How much should I be looking to spend for a custom website from a professional webmaster (including the requested features above)? Many people told us between 1,500$ and 3,000$ is the average pricing nowadays, is that true!!!? Do you guys have any suggestions? Is Myspace still good?

    Thanks,
    F.B.F

unlimited data transfer (bandwidth) will set you back more than $3000 by itself, i doubt you actually need unlimited transfer, unless you are planning on taking on the major multimedia websites like YouTube, better option is to use Soundcloud or something similar, save yourself a hell of allot of money.

A basic website, including all of what you want (except unlimited transfer) would start around £500 ($750?), you could do it cheaper, but as you dont want to learn HTML, you are better of spending the money and getting it done properly. If you want the .com and server setup aswell and maintained, that will be an extra £300-£400, for 1 Year, 2 if you are lucky.

If you want a proper quote, i can do one for you, drop me a private message, but if you really arnt prepared to spend the money on it then dont message me, look up Wordpress and Joomla, see if you can learn those, if not, you dont really haev any option but to pay a professional for it

    myspace is pants.

I'll do it for £2.50. I designed the Facebook. Mark Zuckerprat is a lie designed by the government.

    LOL you guys are funny.

    @miznit, thanks for the info.

I made some research today and ended up on Bandmo (http://bandmo.com) a website generator designed especially for music artists & bands. It’s pretty cheap considering that it includes hosting + domain + everything else. I think it might just be more simple to deal with them instead of ordering every element I need from different companies.

The reviews I found are looking pretty good, I am going to try it now and let you know what happens... (hopefully show you my website soon)

    Cheers

PS. If you guys have more suggestions, please reply to this thread!!!!

fuck that, use a blog website like tumblr or just use facebook and make everything public, then use bandcamp or something to sell your songs.

why spend cash on your own domain name. just use souncloud/reverbnation/facebook/youtube or any other big name site not myspace tho.
    they all link together anyways.
    job done no cash spent

pm what i thought... embed a soundcloud account so that all the audio is hosted cheap, and AFAIK tumblr will host the images etc on their servers...
also HTML 5 is supported on tumblr, whatever that means.

    http://sunholesmusic.com/

What do you guys think? I like it!!! :)

I chose to do it with http://bandmo.com - It's 100 % worth the price IMO. Took me about 1 hour to do everything.

    Thanks guys
