Title: Now The Future / Drop It Human

Tracklist:
01. Now The Future 4:26
02. Drop It Human 5:07

With over a decade of providing the most cutting edge drum and bass the genre has produced, and after putting out monstrous release after monstrous release on the world’s leading drum and bass label Ram Records, Audio has cemented himself as one of the world’s all time heavyweights. Whether it be playing to crowds of 15,000 people at festivals such as Rampage, or at an intimate, local club, there is one thing that Audio is renowned for and that his trademark dark sound and ability to fuse elements from all ends of the spectrum and make it sound as nasty as possible.

The first track is no exception. The sinister tones of ‘Now the Future’ set in and grab hold, taking you into the mind of Audio’s twisted vision of the future. Percussive elements tick away under petrifying atmospheres, building up into an unstoppable bassline offensive. Perfectly executed pitched up drums rhythms cut through delivering an onslaught of dancefloor carnage leaving no escape.

And next up is ‘Drop It Human’. Kicking off, spine chilling and twinkling blips immerse you into the twilight zone. As the main lead filters into the build, the track thrusts into a sonic array of growling mids and low end sub grit, delivering a devastating blow. Audio’s precise, sharp, stepped trademark drum sound forms the backbone, marching the track through to inhuman perfection.

Audio yet again sets the bar with two monstrous cuts that are set to dominate the clubs and festival circuit in 2016. Audio consistently shows the world that he is an unstoppable force to be reckoned with no signs of stopping and the momentum keeps on building up. This is ‘Now the Future’ and ‘Drop It Human’.

So far, I've only enjoyed one Audio tune since he signed to RAM and that was Gotham. Nothing has come close to that one.

I've really been digging Audio's sound lately. I can't really think of anyone else that's been pushing this kind of sound apart from misanthrop, it sounds fresh and unpredictable. Just my 2 cents.

I loved Heads Up / Stampede

His EP had a couple of good bits but his output since has been weak for a producer of his standards

You guys didn't dig Make it Happen or Shatterdome? Both hit the 'oldschool Audio on Virus sound' mark for me.

Not feeling this release much, though. Tis a shame

or Break It or Ultron (forgot that EP was on Ram)???

Only been a handful of tunes I haven't liked of his since his move to Ram (I didn't like Heads Up or Stampede at all, Foodchain is OK

Shatterdome has been my favourite Audio tune since Headroom, Gotham is also wicked but I always forget about it.

Heads Up though, that screech....nah

Shatterdome is alright, but I only played it for about a week until I forgot about it, whereas I do go back to Gotham from time to time.
Never heard of Foodchain. Break It is okay, Ultron is weak to me.

I liked Make It Happen, Shatterdome, Gotham, Nil By Mouth, and Stampede. Ultron and Napalm are ok. I also like Combust and Foodchain when they're double dropped over each other but not individually if that makes sense

I still really don't believe that Audio's output being (arguably) different is anything to do with him being signed to Ram. Producers change and evolve their sound, some people like it, some don't.

Agreed, I doubt RAM told him to change his sound to make it "RAMified" if that's such a thing. But still, it does feel like even though he's releasing more frequently, the quality is compromised.

Nothing he's done since joining RAM has come even remotely close to his Subtitles/early Virus era (or even the years before). 4 ok'ish to pretty cool tunes in 2 years just don't stand for a producer like him - Shatterdome, Foodchain, Nil By Mouth (even though it's basically Headroom VIP #2) and Gotham. Drop It Human is the 5th to follow up on these. The rest is just screechy bollocks all over again. How can anyone enjoy Heads Up was bugging me ever since the release.
