Audacity help!!

Wotcha peeps.

I need some help here.

Im desperately trying to record my mixes using audacity and an American Audio 'Audiogenie 2'. Ive had problems from the outset with this thing.

Ive set my recording and playback features to use the USB interface but when im actually trying to play some records there is about a 2 seconds delay between what im playing and whats coming out of the speakers. Regardless to say, mixing like this ain't easy.

Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong or suggest a reasonable alternative?

my mate had a similar sort of problem but i cant remeber if he fixed it!
but, i use audacity myself. i dont use a usb tho i use a cable
that has a red & white phono on one end and a headphone
jack on the other which i plug into the line in / microphone
socket on my pc. this works no problems the difference in
sound quality will be so little that you wont notice it. also
make sure you have no other programs running on your
computer when you record otherwise the program has a
tendency to skip. hope this helps mate!
