I spent 40 minutess recording a mix today, it was more or less flawless and right when I pressed 'stop' the program crashed and I lost 40 minutes of my life in a single second, and this isnt the first time its happened either- got to be at least 4th or 5th time now and its pretty fucking annoying.

What other recording programs are there out there that are as relatively simple to use as audacity (though im pretty quick to work my round new software) but more reliable?

Any help would really be appreciated.

Give wavepad a go, it's only a demo for the full version wavelab but it's a really good little program all on its own. I'v never had to use another bit of software. Audacity was a pain in the neck when I used it.
