ASIO settings for cubase. (idiots guide again please!)

i have an edirol ua-25ex, which i thought was selected as the driver in the control panel. i had a look and the standard asio mulitmedia driver was set.
ive now selected my the Ua-25ex but now there is cracks and pops as it plays back, is this because ive wrote the tracks set to the standard asio driver?
ive lowered the sample rate and this hasnt helped, im not sure what to do!!??!!

any help is deeply appreciated..

its the Buffer that you need to change, set the Sample Rate to its Default setting as that will be the most efficiant and best quality, then increase the Buffer until play back is nice and smooth

check you have uptodate ASIO drivers

alternativly try ASIO4ALL http://dnbforum.com/showthread.php?109040-ASIO4ALL-(low-latency-audio-driver)

Increase the buffer size on your soundcard settings incrementally until you don't have anymore crackles and pops.
