Architecture Presents: The 50th EP
DJ Ink's storied Architecture imprint reaches a milestone landmark in its history with the release of The 50th EP, the name of the project corresponding to the same number in its discography. To mark the occasion Ink ropes in some of his closest allies to plant the flag and set the standard for the label moving forward.
First up on The 50th EP The man himself comes through on "Piano Dance" seeing Ink recalling some of his earliest production excursions with emotive keys and backwards notes over top of a crashing amen workout. Hard stepping 808 bass punches through as the track progresses further and further along the path to head down dance floor bliss, reigniting the legacy of Ink's own mid 90's Speed and Bluenote sets.
Ink teams with regular collaborator Gremlinz for the punishing No U Turn distorted reece snarler "The Moth" . rolling breaks and paranoia inducing atmospherics raise the tension to the boiling point. The sound of Bluenote era Metalheadz and Prototype encapsulated perfectly by these two masters of the craft. A guaranteed peak time weapon that will be a firm favorite for dancers and DJs alike.
Moving on to "Divided", mysterious Toronto producer Aspect lays down an introspective intro of pianos, chords and distant vocals building to a monstrous bass line assault of angry drones and cascading tones while various break combinations expertly weave underneath.
Rounding things off Long time label stalwarts and brothers in arms Loxy & Resound take things in a funkier, more rolling direction with the Photek inspired step of "White Lotus". Knee bending b line riddims gel with head nodding beats and samurai sound scapes create an eerie yet immersive roller that draws you straight in and doesn't let you go.
Cheers to DJ Ink and the Architecture click for fifty releases of genre leading, cutting edge Drum & Bass. Here's to 50 more!
