Yo

I'm interested in discussing your attempts/successes at producing/recording/mixing music other then electronic music.

How did it go?
Were you able to use any techniques that you thought would solely be useful in electronic music? If so, what and how?
Type of music?
An Example maybe?

I'm made a lot of hiphop beats in the past and I actually use a lot of techniques I used back then in my electronic tunes, so that's the other way around. Also I try to put more acoustic elements in my tracks to make it less electronic.

Yea same I like to try bring that natural feel back in, I guess it makes it seem less precise if you get what I mean.

I was in punk rock bands I'll have you know.

I'm the long haired one playing the drums way too fast.

Haha mad bro, I love abit of punk, Iv played in metal bands before but Iv just always been messing around with beats too.

Edit: Ive been doing some recordings out side of electronic genres too, I enjoy the mixing and engineering side of things, My latest recording is a folk pop track

Also just started demoing stuff for their next album. Been doing some pre-production with them, we're recording some bits next week - re-amping guitars and recording vocals. Then some more production to get the songs sounding tasty and give some labels an idea of what's cracking.

I think what nusphere means is that nowdays no matter what genre of music is created, it eventually gets proccessed through computers and electronic mastering equipment. Even if it's a live gig, alot of the times it'll all be going through electronic processors and CPU's

I'm the other way round as well, was in bands before I got into the tech side of it. Do mostly live stuff for work, don't get much done in the studio at the min, and if I do its usually just for fun.

I'm in a couple bands that aren't electronic, one is a psychobilly band(I play the drums) I don't really incorporate much of the same production as DNB would have, but I toss in a few breaks every now and then.

I also just started a project with a friend of mine, he plays guitar and I program bass, strings, piano, etc. Again, not really using any techniques that I would in DnB, excpet lots of chorus effects >:3

Cool man Ill check out your stuff, leave ya some comment and Shiieeet.

There's no such thing as non electronic production.

Maybe your just missing the point here, on purpose? I fully meant Electronic Music as in a wide encompassing term for all electronica.

I was in a grindcore band :p as drummer.
the problem with producing non-electronic music is the need for great microphones,
all our work sounded like crap. but with grindcore you don't even notice the difference.
Now I own a electronic drumset, the roland td 9kx. so now I can record my drums in good quality.
