Anyone know a good free stereo widener vst?

    And also, is it bad to simply duplicate the track, and pan one far to the left and one to the right as a makeshift manual way of stereo widening?
    It seems to work but also cuts out headroom. But when headroom isn't an issue, is this essentially just stereo widening?

    there is a free one that comes with Cubase called stereo enhancer. and I would think, ive never tried. that making songs stereo by panning is going to bork up your mono stuff. plus make things sound distant.

    i believe it does that, yes, but it also slightly delays the one side
