Anyone ever been in a cyclone? What was your experience etc?

This is a category 3 of 5 (known as a severe cyclone), with a 33%chance it will go to a category 4 as it hits. Serious shizzle...

Haha I should change my location but wana stay true to my routes. Yeh there's 3 stages of alert, blue, yellow n red. Blue n yellow we had to stock up on supplies and medical stuff, and tie everything outside down or bring it in.

We have to stay inside away from windows and doors and if shit gets bad and house starts falling apart shelter in strongest part of house underneath your mattress for added protection. If it gets hyper hyper bad we will be evacuated to a shelter... It's scary. Been like a bad storm in UK all day but now it's starting to get wild :/

    - - - Updated - - -

Will add that by law the houses have to be designed with cyclones in mind, this house is supposedly cyclone proof but it don't feel it right now!!

It's night time mate otherwise I would love to have. Not much to see. If it's ravaged the town I'll take some after shots tomorrow when they lift the alert!

been in a cat. 4 and cat. 3 cyclones.

it just seemed windy. we all got drunk by the cyclone shelter.

the people i was living with had all the emergency shit. but nothing bad happened. bit of flooding. few crocs on the road.

u'll be fine mate. looks like it dies off as it hits land.

Finished now. Ahh you had a cyclone party then castle lol. As castel said a bit of flooding. The wind was beyond belief, house was shaking like a bitch! It was leased to my mate as cyclone proof and it seems to have held up! Although heard a lot of houses in town wernt so lucky... Also have no power so it's hot as fuck!

N yeh castel cyclones usually die quick as they go in land but they where saying this one was different, plus I live on the coast anyway and we ended up getting the full Brunt and middle of it which is strongest part.

Good experience but not one id rush to have again... Cat 4 musta been a bit scary?

What? You live in Karratha? I lived there for like 9 years, only moved down to Perth about 2 years ago. When did you move there (more importantly WHY did you move there)? I hear they have traffic lights and stuff now.

Anyway you should get used to it, like you said most of the houses are cyclone proof. Move your dogs and pussy cats into the laundry, clean up the yard, get a few batteries and a torch in case the lights go out. and if it does get bad I've always heard you should get in the bathroom.

You'll find a lot of people up there enjoy it because its the only time that shithole of a town gets any rain. I heard this one missed Karratha and they got the weaker winds coming from inland as well.

    Small world.

I've been here 4 months mate, for the money, same reason anyone moves here. It's a small town n yeh just had traffic lights put in, and as everyone in this town can't drive for shit there's been a few crashes allready haha

The cyclone hit us, direct hit but damage to most houses was minimal as they're all cyclone proof. A lot of blow over trees, a few landing on houses and cars and the powers still out for our estate (tambrey estate).

No storm surge either as tide was low luckily! Wickham is in a worse state than us aparantly.

How comes you where in ktown?

Map is hilarious, nothing but an upside down cock and balls, and how come Tom Price gets his house shown on a map? Also Jigalong, most epic placename in a good minute

Same as you except it was my dad moving there and being 10 I didn't have much choice.

Should see what one of the mountains in Tom Price is called. Literally "Mount Nameless".
