anybody use reaktor 5?

we've been chatting about this in the other 'Albinio 3' thread, and i must admit im tempted to get that Reaktor 5 - it is alot of opoundage but i reckon you'd be well made up when you got it going and learnt how to actually build your own synth

yeah bro..........looks the like the ultimate sound making tool to me!

i had a go on my friends real access vitus ti and it is nothing short of incredible, the presets themselves are pretty mental, it auto-updates from the internet and adds new patches n sounds whenever they come out!

man, i wish i could afford such things

yeah it's definately mind baffling, i want to get my head around it though, nothing beats knowing a bit of software inside out.

haha, i'd love to own some hardware

lol, ive dreamt about it for years getting a real piece of hardware llike a moog or somthing, or Virus. fucking silly money though. saying that, the results are just as achievable in the software versions, its just with hardware your more hands on and its alot more fun tweeking real pots n dials. not sure if there is a quality difference in the sound from soft/hardware

i did get a demo version of Reaktor 5 off of the N.I website but im yet to try it out, im sure its as good as it looks.

'slurp'

yeah exactly, i get sick off using my mouse to turn knobs on a screen, it seems rather ridiculous. defeats the whole point in even having knobs

greatest piece of software designed....
it looks complex... but it doesnt have to be....
you can serisouly get as much out of it
as you put in.... you could just load premade
ensembles and instruements if you dont want
to go deeper... or you could mod existing instruments
or even build your own.... no limits...
and it fucking phat.... reaktor has a beautiful sound...
dont be scared.... embrace NIs greatest achievement....

NI programs come with a midi learn function....
select midi learn... move the parameter you want to
assign control to... then move the controller you
want to control.... its now assigned...
easy....

i hate simple plugins man.

like being able to do endless things with my samples.

automate the bacon ratio and the amount of salt after 32 bars ect...

like being able to do endless things with my samples.

Check out some of the reaktor samplers from the user
library... so weird and wonderful things there... my fav at the moment is colour strip...
ive built a sampler of my own a couple of times to....
grain formant shifter is an amazing module... quality building
block for any sampler....

i aint got it mate.

Ive got logic. and havent bought many plugins.
Ive only got logic express at the mo...i get a few plugins but not as much as the full version

sook could you write a tutorial mate? would be very much appreciated. just a simple tutorial would be seriously cool man (y)

i think its a boggling program.
try and get zeta . i definately recommend
you can get up to 6 oscilators. many things are possible with this tool.

6 oscilators.

Zeta is a good synth....
i just find i never use it anymore... .
think i may have even uninstalled it... .

but for low end i find my self more and more only using
dual or single oscillator synths...
to many phase cancelations resulting in diminshing
the real weight of the sound....
saw flo (phace) using oki computer in reaktor
a couple of years back... now im obsessed with
the thing..... single oscillator that modulates
a wave across a table... phat and wild....
4 stage matrix that is easy to program....
a good friend of mine twitch who sadly
passed recently modded oki 2 to add
an extra LFO.... simple but useful mod....
will post it up if anyone is interested....

also have a couple of other mods ive done...
might put them up soon....
