Anybody Use Hardware That Can Help?

Yeh so I got a microkorg xl quite cheap and have programmed some really nice reese sounds. I rapid want to whap it in a sampler and process it to fuck but when i record the sound quality is soooo shite.

how do i get better quality, im using a old guitar lead and a wee jack thing which im pluging into the mic input on my laptop. Any suggestions?

around £40, think theres threads floating around on here about them somewhere.

look at m-audio, emu etc

^^ indeed. M-Audio 2496 and Emu 0404 are both under £60 and great quality. Emu cards give you DSP effects too

yea also using a guitar lead is not good. your microkorg kicks out a balanced, line level, low impedance signal and a guitar cable is unbalanced, inst level, High impedance. also the input on your laptop is stereo unbalanced line level.

use a good qualitly TRS lead into an external soundcard and it'll sound crispy.
