Any tips on maing this sound?

any tips on getting the sustained background atmos noise? below is an example of the kind of thing I am trying to make but it was common in a lot of old records. I am lost when it comes to working out what notes are being used, is it a chord?

To me it sounds like a sampled violin (which u clearly hear at 0.14) with a little bit reverb

I'm pretty sure it is a synth. Synth strings are pretty easy to make with saw waves, im sure you could find some good tutorials for it.

Yeah I agree with Mania. That is definitely a synth in my opinion. Saw waves, high pass filter, some EQ and reverb should give you a similar result.
