botel is the best.strangly its a boat on a canal right next to central station. get free 24 hr hardcore porn too. :jacko:
close too all the 39 coffeshop area or whatever its called. real cheap when i went there, although it depends when you go . but youll have too walk a little futhur for the good weed though as its north.

also one called ALbus Grand thats ment to be good yet cheap http://www.hotelium.com/Netherlands_Hotels/Amsterdam_Hotels/Albus_Grand.htm

loads of real cheap hostels a bit south of centre, although they always seemed a little packed with tourists.hotel euphemia was pretty quante and well located.

print out a couple of maps with stuff on too before you go, makes it alot easier to find everything.

The Botels ok, stayed there with my dad a few years back.

Last year we stayed in the Leidseplein which I would definately recommend. Its about a 10 minute walk/2 minute tram ride from the main centre, but its got plenty of good stuff locally, and is a lot cleaner and less hectic than the central area.

Our hotel (La Boheme) was literally right next door to the Melkweg, unfortunately the only act playing there during our stay was Daniel Bedingfield lol!!!
