Yo Yo My man di ol' dnbforum ..

So got any new ideas of genres to mashup? I'd like to experiment my butt off on getting different genres and mixing them at all costs, like for example how about some neurofolk or maybe brutal hardstyle dub techno donkstep?

    Thoughts?

not really a crazy genre fusion cuz it's been done for a long time by many artists but my style is usually a blend of trance and dnb

yeah for sure, i love his stuff. his layering n basses blow my mind. i got turned onto him when he won an above & beyond remix competition. i've been a big fan of theirs since back in the day. anyway he def deserved to win that competition, i've been checking out some of his stuff ever since. most of my influence comes from older millennium-era stuff which was the peak of my party days. with seven lions u def pick up on the strong trance influence but he has a really unique sound to him, really impressive n complex

Trap? Is that even a real genre? Sounds like if you give a child fl studio and a 808 pack and teach them how to use piano roll.

It's for people who like hip hop but can't sing or rap. Basically it is a hip hop instrumental but recently it has became it's own genre and people start rapping over it again. So now it's extreme hip hop. Yeah. Fl's not a toy. Piano roll is freakin awesome...

You gotta link me to that man, it already sounds promising!

Haven't there been rappers doing that since early 2000s tho? I know quite a few rappers did that for some of J Dilla's tracks after he passed away.

Some crazy genre fusion? Why not a mashup between Liquid Tension Experiment + South American Indigenous music + Dnb?

no? sounds like dnb+trap+madness to me

also, classic jazz beat with some neuro basslines would sound interesting, haven't heard anything like that.

what constitutes as a 'classic jazz beat' though? in my mind it's just syncopated rhythms, which breakbeats fall under.
