its not always the case but...

in my experience its easier to get a job once you have a job and your usually more likely to get a job through someone you know...

find a job that i want to do, that i went to uni and studied for, but then i found it easy to get a customer service jobby and 9 months later ive been promoted to the senior position in this customer service call centre and still cant get work doing what i want. but have managed to catch a few freelance projects which has been a nice bonus.

i've found it pretty hard too. stopped working at christmas time. couldnt find anything for 2 months so i went overseas to do volunteer work (to keep my resume full tbh) and now that im back its taken me over a month to get a job. (got offered one yesterday thank god) ...so technically i was unemployed for 6 months.

now all my savings are gone :(

    shits not easy these days

it doesnt suit everyone mate. people have commitments in their home towns. fly in- fly out work is very disruptive to your personal life. working 12 hour days for up to 4 weeks at a time and then coming home for 1 or 2 weeks really isnt ideal.

i asked my bf if i should apply for admin work on the mines and he said it would fuck up our relationship- we'd never get to see each other.

your point is simplistic, and not entirely practical- its not for everyone.

I was unemployed for a month, was fairly shit not having a reason to get out of bed in the morning.

My advice would be just get involved with agencies, even look in the friday ad, or failing that leaflet drop peoples houses offering gardening work/car valet/cleaning on the cheap.

There's always some job available if you're desperate (like I was) its just how low you want to go.

I'm not saying any of you are like this but it really fucks me off when people whinge about not having a job because there are none about, I suggest somewhere e.g McD's and they turn their nose up... I mean, you gotta do what you gotta do right, beggars can't be choosers..
