    Hey.

I want to know how you guys make some atmospheric sounds.
I have a plugin called Filter VST, but it eats my computer much. :(
So any other options? I'm a FL and CB4 user.

I use Rob Papen Albino 3 by Linplug

it's a great VST for ambient soundscapes with lots of oscilators & modulation options couple it up with some phasing and reverb and can give great ambient pads, and is also good for other synth sounds, so you get your money's worth

yeah omnisphere is the business for this sort of thing, but you can make good pads using a decent reverb plug, and knowledge of chords etc....
basically you just want the tail (wet) of the sound and not the dry.

To go slightly off topic, I was thinking of getting Omnisphere but the website said it was recommended to have a 3ghz processor, whereas my laptop is only 2, the ram is not a problem.

So was wondering if it would be really slow of unresponsive before I shell out the cash for it, can anyone give me an idea of what the performance will be like on 2ghz processor & 4gb ram

    Cheers

    FM8 is pretty good.
But its hard to get to grips with if you don't like using Pre sets like me.

a mate of mine runs it on a 1.8ghz processor / 3gb ram

    i run it on a 2.4ghz quadcore.

neither of us have had problems.. do you plan to upgrade your computer? its defantly worth buying!
