above mentioned r all pretty good. Pads are not so tricky, u want moving wide sounds. Use chorus/delay/reverb, phaser/flanger, put vibrato and tremolo on the oscs, layer diff. waveforms. Every synth giving u much options to modulate oscs is usable. Absynth and FM8 r perfect for pads cause of highly editable envelopes.

ReFX Nexus - awesome pads, strings, atmos. MUST HAVE. ~ 2.5Gb (15Gb with all expansions)
Spectrasonics Omnisphere - 9DVD of cool ambient sounds. omg. Not better than Nexus. ~50 Gb
Steinberg Hypersonic 2 - Nice orchestral pads, kinda strings, woodwinds, ansambles etc. ~ 2Gb
Edirol HQ Orchestral - orchestral, strings synth. ~100 Mb
Arturia Moog Modular & Albino3 really cool stuff, and if u had kinda skills u can do a great things with it, just keep workin.

    Space&industrial synth:
    ASET Mythospheric
    MHC Industrial Tones
    Sophia 1.1

I have it all, so if u wanna some of that things just send me PM.
