Am I just being a dick concerning this opinion?

This song I am linking you to I found on audio porn records. I am not saying who ever this is is not talented. However, I am under the opinion that it sounds like a generic Skillex song. I guess my complaint is at least four years or so ago, audio porn found great, original producers and was ran by one of my favorite producers. Am I getting old? or is this overplayed, very similar, fm synthesis, kind of annoying sound, the complete sound of the future?
One of the reasons I spend more time listing to nobodies in music is the originality. I find a hell of lot more interesting, although not as well mixed songs, on this site than I can find from many major labels these days. Please do not get me wrong I find these professionals talented, I just wonder if the future of bass music is in the treble. Moreover, I wonder if the future of drum and bass is bleeping dub step.
Thoughts and opinions? Or am I just getting old?

Dislike that kind of tracks. But i think it s about the "getting old" thing. Maybe too much of bass music ?
Also why don t you try to dig again in the older productions ?

About pros/nobodies, i can't tell. Pros = famous or cleanier sounds producer ? I would guess talented nobodies turn to pro anyway ;p

man that track isnt half bad, when you said generic skrillex i was thinking that typical high pitch growl, but this isnt it?! however over played yes

agreed with above too pro equals clean! i wish i could my tracks to have that clarity and crispness but does that come out during mastering or within the project?!

tbh I imagine myself having a pretty good time to that kind of tracks at a party or something lol, but I do agree with your opinion about originality, people nowadays seem to not appreciate the vibe of deep dubstep, etc. anymore :-/

I don't think it's the getting older thing. Those high pitched sounds really make the tune unlistenable. Can't imagine having to listen to tunes like that at a club erghh

D&B has a lot of faces. This is one of them. If you don't like this style of D&B (like me) listen to other styles like Techstep or Liquid. I much prefer listening to other smaller labels that their output shows quality AND originality not just quality. Audioporn's output is good but slightly unoriginal in my opinion. Dilemn is talented yes, but needs to move slightly with the times but still keeping his sound in essence in his tracks.

To be fair, that bro-sound is slowly dying fortunately.
Dubstep can be an amazing genre, when done "right".

Wouldn't mid range stuff like this fall under tear out anyhow if I understood it correctly?
