got a clip of an unfinished track that starts at what i want to be the drop. i have no idea how to go about setting it up and making an intro work. i dont think blatant wind ups would work cos the track is mellower than what i usually make. the only thing i can think of for now is just start with a stripped down beat and keep adding percussive elements till the drop?

if anyone has any ideas at all please let me kno!

Well, I like what you've got there. Sounds a bit like an atmospheric filler, or an intro in itself.
For me it seems like a tune that doesn't necessarily need a drop. You could just start with this and then twist it up, get a bit dark, change up the drums a bit. Some neuro bass stabs?
    Potential!

yeah u need to find some other sounds that will work over the top of what youv got, and then see if u can use them seperatly as an intro... or just try to write some sounds in the same key and see if you can build it up to that yeah

Try and throw a really GRITTY garage organ into it, warp it until it sounds like a cross between a xylophone and a snare and drop it with the vocal synth.

    Like it man! Like it!

It's a keyboard that fell from favour, got dumped in the garage, has been bumped into a few times while parking the car drunk and now sounds like a cross between Dame Vera Lyn and kermit the frog.
That's what they told me in school anyway.

??????????? lol.... pretty tough question imo

I guess since you're askin I'll try to come up with something...

Ummm, maybe start with that String and some Percussive elements and work your way to that one.

'work your way' = could be anything though, lol
    :D

    sorry... tough question:clown:

thanks for the input man. tbh i think iv hit a wall with this one everything i add sounds wrong. prob just gonna tweak it a bit, stick a drum intro for mixing, and leave it as a go-between track...

maybe it can sit on the shelf for a while n suprise me when im digging thru unfinished tracks

i personally would increase the attack on the main choir like synth and add some more mid-high lead sounds to make it more interesting

like what you have already but could do with some other bits to keep it engaging! maybe some FX halfway through, and at the end of each phase?

In all honesty: that's probably your best bet. Don't try to force it... stick it to the side and come back when the inspiration hits you like a ton of bricks.

you know, i just hear a simple sweep before this hits. bring it in with the percussives and atmospherics and cut to a solo sweep for the last 4/8/16 beats before the drop?

i suppose, if you add more to this it will be easier to figure it out....
