the kind dillinja use to use so well. i've been fucking about in massive for a while now and i can come up with decent sub bass but not one that has an immediate impact, if you know what i mean.

Compression should help with the attack.

With z3ta you ccan shrink a waveform which makes for a dillinja sound.

Also try two square waves and one phase inverted the non inverted one should be boosted in the sub freq. And maybe amped.

for some of those stabs ive just used simple kick drums.

adjust the attack, put some phase distortion and guitar distortion on it.
do the same with another kick and lowpass it and then layer them.
theres so many techniques though.
I dont think that is how he makes them but its quite fun when you make a really fucked up sound.

assuming you want thumping sub bass then, stuff like compression and that should be for the synthy sounds over this... use a sin wave to get 'pure' sound that hits in a club or a sub and a square/saw to add some harmonics so it's more audiable on a normal system!

well said richie my man! remember to allways use a sine wave if you just want a nice big clean sub for layering

i like filtering a square wave, sometimes i detune them a tiny bit in massive too, it adds a little thickness to it.
eq is important too.

Or 808 kick.

Apparently sampling analog bass is good, but ive never tried.
