active sub precautions - advice needed...

Hey,

i just got a 300w active Sony sub and have it working really well, only thing is, sometimes when i power it up it 'gargles' horrible noises.

is there a method i should be using to power it down to stop this?


manual doesn't say anything about it.

Turn it in with the volume down? I usually just leave mine on 24/7.
