Ok im just about to order a pair of Alesis M1 Active 520 Monitors for my pc but before i order these is there anything else i need?.. Cables etc..

Just thought it be best i check, especially as im a tard when it comes to electronics lol.

proper sound card is needed to get the full sound out of them
they dont come with cables (only power) but cant remember what ones you need for them, someone will know

The output on the speakers is either Balanced XLR or unbalanced jack so with onboard sound in your PC you will need either 2 mono jack to jack cables or 2 mono jack to phono cables and a double phono to headphone jack adapter.

This will do the job actually

Yeah you don't need any of that. You just need to split the cable a little for the XLR connectors to reach each speak then plug the headphone jack into the green input port on your PC.

You dont need an amazing sound card unless your a real audiophile, you wont hear the difference between on-board and PCI soundcards.
