Lapalux

In a world in which upstart DiY talent is flooding the gates of electronic music, a few recent voices have been so strong as to be startling. Lapalux - aka 25-year-old Stuart Howard - is certainly one such. As singular as a brilliant artist always should be, his instinctive understanding of the atmospheric power of texture grips the ear immediately on listening. Lapalux was raised in rural Essex, midway between countryside and town; the classic, isolated hinterland that's produced many a distinctive British voice. There's a yearning sense to the record that it's tempting to relate to the young Howard's dreams about what his eventual escape into larger life might be. He certainly had a dream start when a shot-in-the-dark email to electronic hothouse Brainfeeder was immediately answered by label head Flying Lotus himself, who quickly moved on to sign him. To this day, Lapalux remains the only British artist on the Los Angeles based label.

Slava

Slava is a musician and visual artist currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. Born in Moscow, he has spent a significant number of years in Chicago where he co-founded Moment Sound Recordings and played an active role in the city’s electronic music community. He has been performing live since 2003 (usually using nothing more than a few Korg Electribes) and has shared the bill with Convextion, Traxx, Robert Armani among many others. His music has been released on Future Times and Software Recordings and has been featured on Mathematics Recordings and !K7 compilations. Slava’s visual work explores the convergence of real and virtual space through augmented reality iPhone apps, web-based platforms, physical installations and is becoming an integral part of live shows.

Druid Cloak

The mystical Druid Cloak delivers a consistently diverse range of club-ready tracks with his unique morphing soundscapes and strong rhythmic quality. No tempo range is safe as certain tracks clock in at 104bpm with absolutely enormous percussion. As you can usually expect from a Symbols artist, there are many infectious vocal edits throughout his entire debut EP. You're in for a real treat...

FLOTE

A buzz is quietly growing around Philadelphia by way of CT musician/producer Matt Tripodi AKA FLOTE's glitched out yet natural brand of electronic hip hop. As part of the Philadelphia crew Altered Ego Collective (w/ chris∆re, Beam&Deem, Binary Bits, Nommo) FLOTE (AKA Dome Wrecka) cuts no corners, crafting synths and meticulously polishing every sound making sure nothing is overlooked or compromised. Instead of focusing on a single emotion, a FLOTE production usually melts many contradicting emotions into one, at times creating an overwhelming state of nostalgia that is truly rewarding for the listener.
*If you come to a FLOTE show you can be sure to expect an audible orgy of all kinds of ill frequencies, but don't expect to hear other people's material. I'm a musician not a dj.
