WISH YOU WERE HERE: MAY 14TH, 2005

Who Da Funk’s Jorge Jaramillo (New York: Subliminal Records, Subusa) www.whodafunk.net
SPECIAL PREVIEW OF NEWEST SINGLE "UGLY PEOPLE BE QUIET" ON SUBLIMINAL
Although Jorge is currently a solo artist, you probably know him best as one half of the mighty duo "Who Da Funk." His impressive track record includes hits like: "Sting Me Red", "Shiny Disco Balls", and "Radio." "Shiny Disco Balls" catapulted Jorge Jaramillo's career into global acceptance and his performance on "Top of the Pops" still has people talking about his booty-shaking dance which was seen by millions of viewers. Stirring media attention, Jorge Jaramillo has appeared on the front cover of "International DJ" magazine and "DJ Magazine." Don't miss this performance by one of Subliminal's own chart toppers.

CZR (Chicago: Texture Recordings, Funk Parlor, _ FADED MUZIK, EV Management) www.czrmuzik.com
CZR is arguably one of the most influential house artists Chicago has to offer. Starting from his earliest track "Dance To The Drummer's Beat", all the way up to recent floor-filler "Shuggie Love" and classics such as "Warehouse Muzik", CZR has left his mark thoughout the years. His own label Texture Recordings is distributed through Subliminal and has become an outlet for CZR and other collaborative artists like Alex Peace since its inception. Tonight, CZR comes home and plays the city dearest to his heart, and his inspirations.

Mike Relm (San Francisco) www.mikerelm.com
Turntablism meets its match with this artist. With seven scratch records under his belt as well as tour credits to his name like Money Mark and the Gift of Gab, this is one breakthrough artist to watch out for. Recently written up in this year's "Next 100" list for URB Magazine, Relm has proven his stock in a highly competitive atmosphere. Prepare to be amazed by his obscure music picks as well as obscenely technical and intricate tricks. As he says himself, "I'm not here to play; I'm here to amaze".

Jon Pegnato (Los Angeles: In Stereo, EV Management) www.jonpegnato.com
With floor filling world wide releases on some of house music's hottest labels, this LA based DJ/Producer has definitely made his mark as an in demand artist and DJ. Aside from his ground breaking release on Donald Glaude's Eden label, Jon has also managed to get tracks on DJ Dan's In-Stereo Label, Bryan Cox's Weapon records, plus many other notable labels. As a DJ, Jon lays down everything from deep funky house to hard slamm'n tech house, showcasing quick mixing and unique layering.

Say goodbye to the space that brought you Stellar, Candy For Breakfast, Hump, and others during its three year run-it's finally being rented out! So if you remember the good times we had during those nights-the projected PS2 tournaments, Jerry breaking records over his noggin, and that confused pizza delivery man years ago, then you can't miss it. Plus we have wicked talent lined up for you. And if one of your friends doesn't come, well, just tear off the postcard from the flyer, hand it to them and say, "Wish You Were Here." Thanks for the great memories -Solange

As always we will be giving our profits to a chosen charity. This time it is Synergy, a sub-division of the Southwest Youth Collaborative who we donated to at Candy For Breakfast. Synergy is an organization dedicated to educating young women in the hip-hop arts. It is a system of support for young females, helping them to become artistic, self-spoken, mature, physically healthy individuals in society and the future leaders of our tomorrow. Past donations we have made to the SYC (Candy For Breakfast last year) have been used for equipment such as notebooks and art supplies for the girls and young women in the conferences and workshops.
