Drums need to pop more, compression and eq on the kick n snare in particular is needed, especially the hi frequencies

Cheers.... You guys couldn't be more right. Its so strange how once you get close to a track you loose that judgement. Great to hear positive and constructive feedback

Also, check on the mixdown the hi hats are over the kick and the drums! Don't over EQ that snare as it DOESN'T have high freqs, try layering another snare on top and check out for phase cancelation when layering. Also if you pitched that kick like 2 or 3 semitones down wouldn't harm a bit imo.

So far I've compressed the kick and increased the volume of some of the drums and eq'd and its sounding way better. Neomind, is that a big no no to have high hats over the kick and snare? What about using a harmonic exciter on the snares high end? The snare sound is actually three snares combined, eq'd, and compressed using psp's vintage warmer.
