London on the last weekend in August is a glorious place to be; the city breathes new life into the word vibrancy as West London gets invaded by Carnivality. As has become tradition down in Farringdon we’re handing the run of the club to DJ Hype’s Playaz camp, who are hosting three rooms of the best in modern drum & bass. Going all out in Room One with Hype himself, his right hand man Pascal, the inimitable Friction, Marcus Intalex and Playaz staples Original Sin going back to back with Taxman and Crystal Clear.
BBC Radio 1’s Fabio tops a bill in Room Two that highlights some of the scene’s multiple directions with sets from the Metalheadz signed duo Commix – whose ‘Re-Called To Mind’ remix album is surely just around the corner – BBC 1xtra’s Bailey, Total Science – whose d&b lineage runs 15 years deep – Lenzman and Sigma whilst Calyx & TeeBee top a teched out bill up top in Room Three that harbors Jubei, Prolix and Cause 4 Concern.
