240v to 12v

You wanna be careful doing this. Are you planning to use a car amp?
You need the cable to be of a large enough CSA to take the load that is gonna be pulled by a 200/400/1000 watt amp.

At 230v using a 1000w amp, ohms law states I(amps)=P(watts)/V(volts)

so, 1000/230 = 4.4 amps

At 12v however

1000/12 = 83.3 amps

This is a lot of amps. This equation is dona at RMS value not peak.
I run a car sub using a standard 230v amp, i say its best to leave car audio in the car TBH.

Buy a toroidial transformer , and a capacitor , then get a rectifier and you got yourself a linear power supply

http://www.airlinktransformers.com/

you need a good cap say a hitano 50v 10,000 upf maybe 2.

and a rectifier...

so it goes Toiroid ...rectifier.....caps...remember with the caps your volatge will stay at peak rather than average, so if you choose say a 9v it will rise to around 12v..or something like that ..

i know a guy who can do this.

Hes gunna do it for me when i buy a few amps off him.

when he tells me how to do it i will inform you

yea was gunna getta active car amp + sub combo n put it in me car when i get it it..
does anyone actually know any converters/transformers etc that wud handle the current from the 300ish watt amp?
