dnb is a form of BLACK music due to its african slavery roots it came from ,.... reason its NEW BLACK MUSIC is new because its make from technology instead of real instruments and also because they using the new word because fundermentally thats what there playing ,...

personally id much rather have it saying MODERN DAY BLACK MUSIC but thats just me being anal about the whole issue :lol_board

but theres no point bringing music back to the 'roots'....cos if ur gonna do that...they should call all music 'caveman'

the whole point of music is evolution and adaption!! it shouldnt be categorised racially!!

evolution i understand but ,.. it wasnt a the white/black caveman that discovered the drum , that was the african slaves ... hence all music with foundations of beats is known and always will be known as a form of black music ..

well my friend you are wrong....

"The earliest known drum-like instrument is from Mezhirich, near Kiev, Ukraine, and dates back to approximately 15,000 years ago. The instrument was found at the site of the oldest known house, constructed of mammoth bones. They were found in 1965 by a farmer digging a new basement six feet below the ground. The drum-like instrument is a hollow mammoth skull with signs of wear from being hit by mammoth bones decorated with red paint."

i dont know about you...but the Ukrainians look white to me!!

im not saying anything to do with who listens to DNB...more about how the BBC can get away with making and advertising a station with the slogan 'new black music' ...im not annoyed that dnb is classed as black music in anyway....its just the fact that they are labelling the station with a race.

    yea ive always noticed that!
not sure if its necessary really to label a music genre with a race, even if it does have black origins do they need to constantly announce it like some form of segregation?
