I bought some Technics second hand from a private sale, been serviced last year and well looked after,
Had a mix, all working fine then I set the tone arms again to make sure they are right, now on one deck the needle jumps when it gets towards the centre. I now have the weight at 2.5 and the height at 5. I found out some information on how to set the height, by measuring the height of the cartridge, mine is 20mm (stanton) so it said to have the height at number 5
Are these details correct? I have also set the anti skate to zero on the deck with the skipping problem, it seems better for now but still skips at the centre on certain records. Would more weight affect the wear of the records?
Also could it be the needle?
