Fuck man - I always see people playin on the tube but I got my headphones in so i never hear - i used to make a point to remove them everytime I went past someone playing any kind of instrument but I don't anymore, I think I might just do that from now on
thats a pretty good point to make nice one. although that format looks amateur!!
saw this some place else. Amazing. The guy is playing a stradivarius and no one listens to it. Only when they have to pay 100 dollar for it. 'If it's for free, it can't be good.'
Been thinking about this before they did it aswell.
Same thing as when some artists can produce the greatest shit music in their career, but the fans will still like it just because it's that artist.
At the same time, some unknown dude could be producing some ill tunes, and only few will notice.
Same in modern art too. If i take an ordinary object and write my name on it, who will care? If some of those modern art guys does it, people buy it for millions.
init man you making alot of sense!!
ive seen this kind of thing on TV before i think, it was a couple of guys from a big rock band were busking with guitars and they didnt make shit all....
oh the irony
also a point to all that is so people can say to each other
"i have the other songs"
"i paid X-amount for this "insert-famous-artist-name-here" piece"
its purely to make yourself appear cool or before the crowd...
had some entry exam for pjilosophy where the question was "nowadays art has no value only a price" was a fucking sick question and i banged it haha
i was gunna do graphics when i got to uni, but i recon i mite try this philosophy thing....i recon i could make some tasty statements about society.
nice quote, gotta remember that one
I'd stick with graphics, philosophy is long essays, not a bunch of stoners discussing the way that we are all part of one consciousness haha
when you put it bluntly like that.....
to be honest i woldnt stop for music like that but if i herd some tunes i actually liked like dnb etc or that dub fx guy then i would stop an listen
maybe people didn't want to stop because it was so fucking cold?

also what did they really expect the people to do? Sit down, go get a cushion, start singing along with lighters and arms raised high in the air - the reaction would have been different if he was playing on a shopping street on a sunny saturday afternoon in summer
you wouldn't expect everyone to stop though.
i used to play the violin so i would probably recognise that he was good, and also my mum use to play a lot of bach back in the day (very middle class i know), so i would probably recognise how good he was and pay attention.
if it was a famous bloke playing the trombone i'd be clueless. Its all about your experiences, you can't judge how good something is if you havn't got a grasp of it.
It's like to people that don't listen to dnb, all they here is repetitive drum patterns and basslines, they don't grasp the quality of it.
equally i don't grasp how good lots of Indy/rock stuff may be.
the point here is out of those 2000 people, perhaps maybe only 5 or so would have a background in the style of music (NY is a big ol place) and even then they may not be paying attention. its a very subjective point (think its subjective!)
Grow up and get a fucking job! Stop looking for the easy route!
Love you really
I'd provide for you if you gave me the chance
Nice find man.
The thing is with this, if someone was playing the violin badly.....i'd prob think they were good as i have NO knowledge of the instrument.
VERY good point made though
if they play sik dubstep everyone is like whoa an start skankin nobodys bothered with some old music on violin by some polish
