INFLUENZA Pure Phunk | www.sickbeats.com | www.nexusartists.com | Vancouver, BC The cold front hovering Canada’s west coast music scene has recently warmed to the breakbeat sound. A whole new culture has taken hold. This radical change of climate has unleashed a ‘Nu’ epidemic from Vancouver: the duo known as Influenza. Symptoms may include feverish bass, infectious groove, and a nasty case of funk. (Onset is immediate and there is no known cure.) Jason Craig (Oddmud), who had been spinning breaks for 2 years at that point, decided he wanted to take it to the studio. For this, he found both a mentor and partner in Jeff Malcolm (Psidream); and conveniently for him, Jeff had already logged his share of years in the studio.
