    Forthcoming Critical/Modulations Releases

That Bou thing is really really fun and really really good and maybe I need to follow Critical stuff more closely again.

    Forthcoming Exit Releases

Also the whole "Exit isn't a DnB label anymore" thing is bullshit - if it's 85bpm and you can play it in a set full of DnB then it's DnB.

    Forthcoming Exit Releases

Yeah that Fulltono release was a bit.... I played it to my mate who is a complete Footwork nerd and really rates Fulltono and loads of the Japanese Footwork stuff and even he was sitting there like "so is this all it does?" after 90 seconds. They are wicked grooves but there's not much else...

    Forthcoming Exit Releases

"Little Dubplate" is great, serious skills to wring something fresh sounding out of one of the most tired formulas in all of D&B, it sounds like the sort of thing that would have come out on Soul:R in like 2005 and that is a huge compliment.

Icicle launches new label - Entropy Music

^ the nearest thing to an actual groove I've heard on an Icicle production since the City of Light LP.

for years people have been completely confused about what the best Calibre track is ....

First time he met Fabio was in 98 in the Kitchen here in Dublin, at the launch party for his first 12" on Quadrophonic - this was before he could even DJ, so he basically had his whole studio setup in the booth and played twenty odd tunes as "live" as he could on sampler and keyboard etc etc...

for years people have been completely confused about what the best Calibre track is ....

Yeah man, like *obviously* he can make incredible music - we all knew that -, but like he can just turn the tap on and do it on command, from ingredients that are just lying there unrecognised, and he can do it in such a way as to make a really sweet point with it. That kind of practised ear...

for years people have been completely confused about what the best Calibre track is ....

True story about this one - so this one time Calibre played here in Dublin at a Bassbin night, then went down to Selectah record shop (which was a Bassbin thing) then the next morning before heading back up north, spent twenty minutes in the shop, picked three or four records out of a bargain...

Man has so many absolute weapons that even his best tunes aren't on Youtube in full

    Forthcoming Commercial Suicide

Method One EP is the best thing on Commercial Suicide since the Seba 12" imo, fantastic body of work.

    Forthcoming 31 Recordings

Woi, that DKay and Lee thing is niceness. Need to hear these in full, but yeah, really solid good vibes middle of the road melodic warmup set filler in the way they always nailed so well. Definite purchase I reckon.

    RIP Andy Skopes

Very sad indeed. I've bought a lot of Andy Skopes things down the years, he was one of the only real chameleons of his generation, could knock out a siiiick Amen jam and then the next release would be the smoothest liquid or some neuro thing and you never quite knew what you were going to get...
