WHAT LABEL? Thread

Hi there,

I have decided to create a thread where anyone of us can ask about labels that are or might be similar to their productions. Basically, you have a track worthy to be sent out and you don't know where to send it out or to whom. You come here and ask in this thread and naturally we would try to help out.

Let me start off. I am looking for a label that releases deep D&B. My tracks are essentially minimal and deep, with a musical edge to them. I know labels such as Samurai and Auxiliary but they don't take demos. Do you know any others? Small or large, I don't mind as long as they are good labels.

Thanks :)

EDIT: Now one thing to remember is that, if one of us recommends a label to someone, and that someone doesn't get his/her track signed, doesn't mean it is our fault. We are here to help each other :)

Great idea man!

I discovered some good labels that release a lot of quality deep & minimal dnb. I'm not quite sure if all of them still accept demos, but just give it a try:
https://soundcloud.com/solace-records
https://soundcloud.com/alphacut
https://soundcloud.com/apollo-records
https://soundcloud.com/mindsetrecordsuk
https://soundcloud.com/pushing-red
https://soundcloud.com/modularcarnage-recordings (Got a collab released on this label, those guys are awesome!)

By the way man, just checked your soundcloud, you only got 2 tunes up but they are both pure quality! I think you have excellent chances.

Thanks man, glad you like them. And thanks for your imput :)

One thing though:
Pushing Red is more Techno and Bass Music. Warm Communications is the D&B label from the same company https://soundcloud.com/warm-communications which is more experimental rollers.

Also Solace has a sister label called Silk Recordings which focuses on D&B https://soundcloud.com/silkrecordings

I am tempted by Modular Carnage though, never heard the label before. Also by Solace/Silk. Thanks :)

You are welcome man!
Didn't know those things about Pushing Red and Solace, thanks for the info man!

Yea you should defo get in touch with the Modular Carnage guys, i think they have a dropbox or at least a mail account for demos.

Maybe anyone can help me a bit. I'm looking for a label that is only focused on energetic dnb, but i know that my stuff is not good enough for Viper. Maybe my soundcloud page (@ bottom) can help a bit to identify what style i have.

Cheers :)

I am using Elements / Around The World as an example (which is frankly brilliant btw :D)

I think Titan Records is a good step up https://soundcloud.com/titanrecords

Other probable labels:
CYN Music https://soundcloud.com/cynmusic

And tbh, I would send to Viper though. Your tracks sound good already :)

Doc Scott runs 31 Recordings and they do loads of experimental and minimal stuff.

True, I forgot about them. The thing is that I settled for Flexout Audio since my track in question is very similar to Dexta & Mauoq - Werewolf

Kind words my friend! Thank you.

Haven't heard of Titan Records before, but they look really good.
CYN is not completely new to me, as i'm a big Dimension fan, but i didn't know that they would accept demos aswell, thank you.

By the way, have you heard of Counter Intelligence? They could be interesting for you :)
Oh by the way, Flexout Audio = Artwork porn

Yeah, just ask them on their FB pages and they should tell you how to send demos to them.

No I haven't heard of Counter Intelligence. They look good but not that suitable for my track in mind and yes, Flexout artwork is bloody brilliant

Sweet thread! im at the stage now where im gonna start sending music to labels. have 3 tracks atm but they are all a bit diverse and don't really know how I would describe them :p

You could send little clips of the tunes or at least tell us the sub genres so we can give you some suggestions :P

Then send separately to 3 different labels.

I don't really agree with sending to 3 different labels as i think a good label would want you as the artist you are as a whole and not just for 1 of your tracks.

I do have a clip of one of the tracks in a video on my facebook page but I do like keep my cards close to my chest so currently no other clips are out there :p Just waiting on 1 track to get back from mastering then I will be ready to start sending out.
