granted we would have lost the game but for second half substitute (defoe). cole might be strong, and a big fucker and all that, but he ain't ever gonna be an england centre forward, standard. too many better players than him.

Err, my opinion does count, did i say Cole was better then Owen, No....Owen is the better player but Cole come into his best form last season and hopefully this season will be better for him!

At the moment Cole has been in better form. Owen has played well for man united in pre-season, but this is international football, Playing against chinese teams doesn't add up. Owen hasn't had good form since he left to join real madrid years back.

There are always injury worries for owen aswell, so he may have been left out to keep him for the start of the season.

I thought Cole played well with defoe last night.

Also big up milner, he made a massive difference when he came on!

Anyone else think ferdinand looked well sloppy last night? i thought he looked slow around the pitch!
